Sunday Edition Presents: Air Travel The Good, Bad and experiences a Solution Based Conversation

December 1, 2025

Sunday Edition PresentsAir Travel: The Good, the Bad and the UglyA Conversation About Experience and Solution

This week’s episode of SUNDAYEDITION dives into a timely and necessary discussion about air travel, accessibility, and the lived experiences of blind and low vision travelers. Many Sunday Edition audience members know that I, Anthony Corona, recently attended the Blind Travel Summit. In a serious twist of irony, the trip home from that very summit resulted in one of the worst air travel experiences of my life. The airline in question was dismissive and abrasive at best, and at worst their actions violated my civil rights through bullying, lack of communication, and a refusal to follow basic protocol.

This experience fueled my determination to bring the conversations we had at the Blind Travel Summit directly to our community. I invited friends from the summit, including Mika, Jean, Pen, and Jeremy, to join me for a deeper roundtable conversation. Lifelong air-travel advocate Gabriel also joined us, sharing perspectives shaped by decades of experience. Together, we explored the good, the bad, and the unfathomably ugly realities of travel while centering solution-based advocacy, equitable practices, and the need for true understanding baked into hiring, training, and infrastructure across the industry.

This conversation will serve as a springboard for a broader initiative in the air travel space. We are already arranging a follow-up meeting with accessibility teams, operations, and executive leadership from several major airlines. As of this taping, three airlines have committed to participating in a January 7 conversation aimed at improving access, dignity, and consistency for all travelers with disabilities.

Sunday Edition Spotlight Blind Travel Summit

November 15, 2025

Sunday Edition Spotlight: The Blind Travel Summit 2025 – Day Two Teaser

In this special Sunday Edition Spotlight, I am giving you a first look into day two of the Blind Travel Summit 2025. The full details and presentations are coming soon, but this teaser captures the energy, excitement, and unforgettable firsts that made the day so memorable.

Day two began with a milestone moment for me. I took my very first autonomous vehicle ride using the Waymo and Uber partnership. From the precise pick up to the smooth and confident navigation across Austin, the experience was both surreal and empowering. Riding in a fully automated vehicle for the first time opened a brand new chapter in independence and access. I cannot wait to share the full story, reflections, and reactions with you.

Once I arrived at the Texas School for the Blind, the day was filled with incredible sessions, advocacy conversations, and travel insights. I cannot give too much away yet, but I can promise you that the content coming from the Blind Travel Summit will be packed with information about accessible travel, upcoming changes in transportation, and what organizations like Open Doors are doing to expand options for all of us.

This episode is meant to tease everything that is coming your way. Over the next several days and weeks, I will be releasing videos and extended coverage of the presentations, interviews, and travel demonstrations across the entire Sunday Edition landscape. You will be able to find them in Above the Fold, the Sunday Edition News Facebook Group, on The Anthony Corona Substack, on Anthonycorona.com, and of course right here on Sunday Edition itself.

Stay tuned for much more. The Blind Travel Summit brought powerful conversations, honest advocacy, and a glimpse of what accessible travel can look like in the future. I cannot wait to share it all with you.
